It is easy to edit the personal profile you created when you registered as a netTrekker user. Your personal profile contains information about your password and your role as either a teacher, a netTrekker administrator, or a student. Remember that your role will determine the search results you receive, as well as other aspects of netTrekker use. See User Roles for more information.
Edit Your Profile
To access and modify your profile, follow these steps:
- Access Your Profile
To access your profile and make changes to it, click on Profile from the user menu drop-down box next to your username.
- Location of My Profile Link
- Edit Your Profile
netTrekker will immediately display your personal profile. By editing fields on this form, you are permanently changing your current account information.

The user role determines the home page a user sees upon logging in to netTrekker and, as a result, the features and functions available to that user. It also determines some of the functionality of My Portfolio, especially the View and Change rights on Class, School, District and Global shared resources. By default, all netTrekker user roles are set as Student when you first register. A user can change a login role from Student to Teacher clicking on Change Role. Learn about Changing to Teacher Role here. A user with a Teacher role can create classes in My Content, and move, copy, bookmark, edit, and delete resources in the School Content and District Content folders.
B. My Organization
Your organization is the school, district, or region you belong to. If you move from one organization to another and both organizations have netTrekker subscriptions, you will use the My Organization drop-down menu to change from one organization to the other.
C. Password (and Re-Enter Your Password)
Create a new password in the Password field. Repeat your new password in the Confirm Password field for verification. Remember that your password must be at least 5 characters long.
D and E. Password Question and Answer
Choose a Question from the drop-down menu and provide an answer that you will clearly remember. These “hints” will be provided to you in the event that you ever forget your password and need a little help.
